Job Summary: Under the direction of the Pool Manager, the Lifeguard/Swim Instructor is responsible for the effective operation of Kin Pool through the provision of supervision, aquatic programs, and maintenance of the facility.
Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Ensures pool safety through supervision and public education; enforcing pool rules, effectively responding to emergency situations, carrying out aquatic recues and performing first aid. 2. Instruct Swimming lessons; providing a safe environment for learning, evaluating swimmers strokes and skills, and providing effective feedback. 3. Provide excellent customer service; developing a positive relationship with facility user groups and patrons. 4. Collects drop-in fees
Hours of Work: Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule, including weekends and evenings. (0-40hour/week)
Rate or Pay: $15.00/hour lifeguarding non-public swim $16.00/hour instructing lessons $19.00/hour lifeguarding public swim time

(2) Aquatic Supervisor Positions (1) Weekday position and (1) Weekend Position
Job Description Under the supervision on the Kin Pool Operations Manager the supervisor will be responsible for supervision of Lifeguard/instructors, training, and pool maintenance. As a leader, the supervisor will provide guidance to ensure NL standards are maintained and daily/weekly tasks are completed. In addition, the supervisor will be expected to perform all regular lifeguard/instructor duties.
Responsibilities Provides on deck direction and support to ensure proper lifeguard procedures are followed; rotations, guard to patron ratios, effective scanning techniques, etc. Monitors and ensures the completion of daily tasks and record keeping Maintains pool chemistry, performs backwashes and completes all other pool operations tasks Provides orientations, training and mentoring to staff Liaises with patrons and coaches to resolve any complaints. Ensures the Pool Operations Manager is aware of any major issues and resolutions. Performs all the duties of a Lifeguard/Instructor including lifeguarding, instructing lessons, and cleaning duties.
Qualifications and Experience Minimum of two years experience as a Lifeguard/Instructor NL-Pool Option Red Cross WSI Pool Operators Level 1
Hours of Work May: 20-30 Hours/Week Flexible schedule May 28th to August 31st: 35-40 Hours/Week 8:30am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday OR 9:00am to 5:00pm Saturday and Sunday September: 20 Hours/Week Evenings and Some Weekends
Compensation Public Swim Times: $19.00/Hour All Other Hours: $18.50/Hour
